After an awesome radio campaign by our friends Planetary we have a great booking agent on board and are going to be out from March 3rd – 27th, starting in NYC, moving down to Austin and then to Canada for Canadian Music Week! We have also been doing pretty damn well in some UK indie charts with our new friends at Strummerville and Young Rebel AND on top of all this we have already demoed 8 new tracks for our 2nd album. We are featured here in the ABC Music lounge.

We have spent the rest of the summer writing our 2nd album and rehearsing in new songs with a brand new line up, so are ready for the autumn! Watch this space for new shows……..!

2011 kicked off in style with a huge gig headlining Club NME @ KOKO - what a great night with an amazing audience of over 1000! Check out some fan vids and pics from the night on our Facebook page - and please join us on Facebook too while you’re there!

Ian and J are flying to Budapest in mid Jan to finish the vocals off for the album as a bout of band flu wiped that part of the recording process out in December, but the remaining tracks will all be finished off and mixed by late Jan/early Feb so the album can hit the shops in March!

 Catch us at one of our other late Jan shows too at the BBC Club or the Water Rats if you either missed the KOKO gig or you went and just simply want another KK fix to warm those winter blues!

GIGS - We are playing a special single launch party at the legendary 100 Club on Thursday 9th December, so please get your tickets early here! We’ll be handing out FREE copies of the single to everyone who comes down to see us and also have a limited number of  cheaper guestlist tickets, so please email now or see us in person if you want one.
 
After this we will be playing a HUGE show, headlining CLUB NME @ KOKO on Fri 7th Jan! More info to come on that soon….
 
RECORDING - We are back in the studio with producer Jamie Winchester to finish our album off, which will be released in March 2011.

It should be an amazing night and we may well be one of the last bands to ever play the 100 Club as it is set to close this year, which will be a tragedy for live music here in the capital.

PS Adopt a Tiger ! (Wouldn’t it be cool if you were minding your business whilst on Safari in a tent somewhere in Tanzania, or wherever, and a Tiger, Your Tiger you’ve been paying your hard-earned recession addled fiver a month to keep outta harms way came along and ate you)!

I saw The Black Keys last week in Brixton, once the audience got amongst it we had a super time. I bought a T-Shirt with a Dog on it, but it’s a women’s one unfortunately, size small, if there are any women out there interested in the t-shirt, with the Dog on it, drop us a line telling us why you should have it, and the best one will get it ! Get it ?

Dom, the newest member of the Kicks is an animal! ; beating the sh*t outta rehearsal space drums all over town, bleeding on snares, breaking heartstrings.. what have we gone and done !!

We’ve shot a new video for our next single, Me, which is all set for release on 6th December and have just done a new photoshoot that will be up here for all to see very shortly – meet the new look Katalina Kicks! The single launch party will be at the famous 100 Club in London on 9th December, which is unfortunately set to close its doors very shortly afterwards, so we might well be one of the last bands ever to play at one of the World’s most iconic venues. We’re due back in the studio in late November to finish and master the album too, which is due for release in March 2011, to coincide with a US tour – exciting times indeed…..
